HWI's mechanical engineers have a thorough understanding of the various mechanical aspects involved in product development and design. Advanced design tools improve the development cycle, and include SolidWorks, Mechanical Desktop, PT/Modeler, AutoCAD and MSC VisualNastran. Our analysis process is also critical and includes FEA, 3D kinematics analysis, and stress, strain, thermal and vibration analysis for environmental and usage considerations.

Rapid prototyping and "Proof of Concept" is highly integrated in this process, with the capabilities for STL (Stereolithography) and Pour-mold models prior to going to hard tooling. We are then able to use HyperMill to export data to our in-house CNC machine for any secondary operations. This provides a cost-effective way to attain design feedback without the high costs associated with a production-level process.
